Belt Making with Craftplus® Tipping Machine

Leather belts are the timeless and quintessential accessory that complement everyday looks. From classic belts to braided belts, from belts made out of faux leather to exotic leathers, you can find virtually any kind of belts in numerous colors. The best part is, they are easy to do it yourself! In today's how-to video, we're going to show you how to make this staple accessory using Craftplus® Tipping Machine.

We make our belt from veg-tanned double shoulder, this is the thickest and firmest part of the hide and yields the most consistent and even material. This cut of leather makes the best belts for men and women.

Materials Needed:

1. Veg tanned double shoulder, 3.6mm~4.0mm (9~10oz).
2. Strap cutter.
3. Edge color.
4. Edge dyeing pen.
5. Belt buckle & keeper.
6. Screw posts.
7. Screw driver.
8. Craftplus® Tipping Machine. 

Watch this quick video and follow along the below simple steps to create your own belt! 

Belt Making DIY:
1. Cut 32mm wide leather strap using strap cutter.
2. Center the strap on the tipping machine and cut the buckle and screw holes using the buckle die.
3. Switch out the buckle die and insert tip die. Center the other end of the strap in the machine and cut.
4. Finish the edges with edge color and edge dyeing pen. Allow the edge color to dry completely before assembling.
5. Insert buckle, keeper and secure them in place using screw posts. Tighten with screw driver.

Your leather belt is done!
